Living well as you get older

Getting older does this mean slowing down, or is it about using your time wisely, comfortably, and with joy?
Making memories, filling your life with simple pleasures and relationships.
Staying connected: being lonely can affect both the body and mind. Stay in touch:
- Family members and grandchildren.
- Old friends and neighbours.
- Join community groups, senior groups or your local church.
Keep your mind active: An active mind does help to keep memories sharp:
- Complete puzzles like Sudoku or crosswords
- Read magazines, newspapers or books
- Learn to do something new: painting, music, or playing an instrument.
Take care of your health: Good health will make getting older easier:
- Drink plenty of water.
- Visit your doctor regularly.
- Eat balanced meals with fruit, vegetables and whole grains.
- Gentle exercises or short walks.
Enjoy the simple things in life: Being happy is important, and often it is the small things:
- Gardening or caring for plants.
- Watching birds, TV, or even sunsets.
- Having a morning cup of tea or coffee.
- Listening to music.
