What is the difference between waking nights and sleep nights?

A waking night involves the Health Care Assistant staying awake during the allocated time to support the client, as often as required. Sleep nights – staff staying the night usually for peace of mind for the client, but they are also able to support during the night.

Can I have short-term support if I come out of the hospital and need someone with me?

Yes, sometimes the hospital requests that you have someone stay with you for 24 hours. RCB Homecare can provide short-term care.

What times are the Health Care Assistants available from and to?

Overnight care is usually from 9 pm to 6 pm or 10 pm to 7 am, but this can be discussed at the assessment or over the phone.

What tasks are staff able to complete during the allocated times?

Tasks can differ from person to person, but may include medication, toileting, and emotional support.

Why might I need overnight care?

There are many reasons why overnight care is right for you. Some live alone, and having someone there gives a sense of security, frailty and mobility support for those who may experience regular falls or those who have mobility concerns or a disability. Somemay have complex medical conditions and need support throughout the night.
